blend of neutrals

Cardie: H&M, Vest top: Tesco, Skirt: T K Maxx, Brogues: Urban Outfitters, Bag: Primark

Hey guys!

It's getting sunny and hotter. Spring finally is here! Which means I can take my skirts and dreses out from the back of my wardrobe. Today I'm wearing a pastel checked Roxy skirt and teamed it with a pastel pink vest and gold cardie. To complete the look I wore tan brogues form Urban Outfitters and nicked Sita's bag from Primark.

What are you looking forward to wearing as the weather gets warmer?

Over the past few posts we have been reviewing the items we received in an Holland & Barrett beauty box to promote a good night's sleep.

The final step to the routine is the Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Night Cream. If you missed step one, two and three you can go back and read them first.

The Claims
"Organic Moroccan Argan Oil is an incredibly rich source of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. The unique properties of this amazing oil are combined with a number of organic essential oils and fruit extracts to create a rich and deeply absorbent cream, suitable for use on the face and body.

This rich hydrating night cream also includes three organic African extracts: Kigelia, Roselle and Baobab. These extracts have been used for centuries and due to their unique antioxidant properties they help soften the skin and increase levels of vitamin C, which in turn assists in collagen synthesis and younger looking skin. This treatment provides deep-down action to help reduce the visible line of wrinkles, with the feel of absolute comfort from night-time to morning."

The Reality
I love the smell of the cream as it reminds me of tiger balm, which I love. Sita doesn't like the smell, she prefers fruity fragrances. The product is quite thick and nourishing which is great for my dry skin both on my face and body. It keeps my skin feeling nourished and hydrated.

As well as being formulated from organically certified and natural extracts, it is free from parabens, SLS, artificial colours, fragrances and harsh preservatives. It is cruelty-free and suitable for vegans.

The Packaging
The cream comes in a glass jar which is perfect as it allows you to take as much as you need and use up every last drop.

The Ultimate Question: Would I Repurchase?
Yes, after using this product I am interested in Dr Organic products so would like to try some of their other creams as well as the argan oil range.

The Overall Score:  4/5

Have you tried any products from the Dr Organic range? What are your thoughts?

holland & barrett lavender essential oil: review

Yesterday we started a series of posts reviewing items we received in a box from Holland and Barrett to promote a good night's sleep.

Today we're on step three, which is the Holland & Barrett Lavender Essential Oil. If you missed step one and two you can go back and read those first.

The Claims
"Sweet and floral with a medium strength initial aroma, this soothing essential oil has been found to be very beneficial for supporting relaxation. The art of aromatherapy can be traced back to the great ancient civilisations of Egypt, Greece and Rome where essential oils were valued for their many uses. Aromatherapy oils may be used singly or mixed together to create your own blends."

The Reality
This is a good quality essential oil. Lavender is known for its relaxation properties. I like putting a few drops on my pillow to help me drift off to sleep. Lavender has quite a distinctive scent so if you don't like it then this may not be for you.

As this is an essential oil it can be also used for aromatherapy purposes such as for massages and used to cleanse and moisturised  Although if you are going to use essential oils please be safe and do your reading and research before hand. Also don't put essential oils directly on to the skin always use a carrier oil to mix the essential oil with before applying.

The Ultimate Question: Would I Repurchase?
Yes

The Overall Score: 4.5/5

Earlier today we reviewed Wonder Oil which was step one in a box we received from Holland & Barrett to promote a good night's sleep.

The second step is the Holland & Barrett Black Cherry Concentrate.

The Claims
"Cherries are rich in compounds known as anthocyanins. Black Cherry Concentrate is great for smoothies, as a mixer, or when you want a tasty yet natural topping for ice cream or dessert."

The Reality
Let's just get straight to the point I'm not a fan of cherry flavoured things so I was sceptical as to whether I would like the taste of this product. Being a veggie I was glad to read that this product was suitable for vegetarians/vegans so I was happy to give it a try. Only to find I did not like the taste at all, to me it was like drinking medicine.

However I think that the concept of the product is great. The Black Cherry Concentrate has no artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners or preservatives. It is a natural product and a much healthier and nutritious alternative to squash or juice.

If you do like the taste of cherrie's then I think you would really love this product.

The Price
Holland & Barrett: £11.69/473ml

The Ultimate Question: Would I Repurchase?
No

The Overall Score: 3/5

Have you tried the Holland & Barrett Black Cherry Concentrate? What are your thoughts?

holland & barrett wonder oil: review

a picture of holland & barrett wonder oil
a picture of holland & barrett wonder oil

Last month we shared our first impressions on a Holland & Barrett Beauty Box that was sent to us. After using the products for a month we are going to share our thoughts with you.

The box contained products to promote a good night's sleep. Step one was Wonder Oil.

The Claims
"You will feel its luxurious satin texture on your skin. Wonder Oil is great for hair, skin, massages, cuticles, bath, scalp and as a hot oil treatment.Wonder Oil leaves a rich elegant feel and does a superb job of lubricating and moisturising."

The Reality
Wonder Oil is a good multitasking product which can be used on your face, hair and body. It has a strong citrus smell which is a bit too sickly for Radha but Sita likes it. Scents are so personal aren't they!

We find the product a bit greasy on initial application but after a few minutes it is absorbed into the skin. However, you are still left with that oily sheen. This may be a problem if you have oily skin hence you may wish to avoid the product. But if you have normal/dry skin it works well as a moisturiser.

The Packaging
The packaging could be improved with a pump as we find that it occaisonally leaks and sometimes you end up with too much oil.

The Ultimate Question: Would I Repurchase?
Maybe, it is a good multipurpose product to keep in the cupboard for when your skin/hair is dryer than normal and needs a boost and some extra moisture.

The Overall Score: 4/5

Have you tried Wonder Oil? What are your thoughts?

interview outfit

Jacket: Next, Trousers: TK Maxx, Brogues: Primark, Necklace: Primark, Vest: Tesco

Hey Guys!

Hope your having a good weekend. I wish the weather would make up its mind; we've had sun, rain and hail today.

Today I'm preparing for an interview I have next week. As well as preparing for the interview questions, I thought I'd decide on my outfit. I teamed my woollen suit jacket from Next with a navy pair of Fenn Wright Manson Studio trousers. I've kept it simple underneath with a navy vest top and the eagle necklace from Primark. I also wore my tweed brogues from Primark.

What are your opinions on the outfit for an interview?

Hope you have a good weekend.

mac eye kohl in smolder: review + swatches

Today I'm reviewing the MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder.

The Claims
"A soft-on pencil liner that lines, defines and shades the eyes with rich colour and a silky-smooth, matte/pearl finish"

The Reality
This Mac Smolder Eye Kohl is a dark intense black liner. It has a lovely soft creamy consistency and  goes on like a treat. Its great for creating smoky looks as it smudges really well and is easy to blend and work with. However as the eyeliner is very soft it is difficult to get a sharp cat eye look.

I am a contact lens wearer so my eye's tend to get watery and unfortunately when I apply this eyeliner on my waterline is smudges a lot. Within two-three hours it has disappeared off my waterline most of it is on my lower eyelid. Panda eyes is certainly not a look I'm a fan off so seeing as i've already bought it I'm going to stick with using it on my upper eyelids.

The eye kohl is non-irritating and has never made me want to scratch my eyes or has never given me red eyes.

The price tag of £14 is rather hefty but it does last a long time.

The Price
Mac Cosmetics: £14/1.45g

The Ultimate Question: Would I Repurchase?
Yes

The Overall Score: 4/5

Have you tried the Mac Eye Kohl in Smolder ? What are your thoughts?

the body shop brazil nut body butter: review

a picture of the body shop brazil nut body butter

In today's post I shall be reviewing The Body Shop Brazil Nut Body Butter. This product had been discontinued however The Body Shop are bringing the Brazil Nut products back for a limited time period. This is a great body butter however I'm on the last tub bought before the product was discontinued, so we are excited to here that The Body Shop are bringing back this product.

The Claims
The butter claims to provide:

  • 24-hydration
  • Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother
  • Ideal for dry skin
  • Sweet and nutty scent

The Reality
The Body Shop Brazil Nut Body Butter has a subtle nutty smell which isn't too overpowering like some of the other body butters.

I think that this is an amazing thick moisturiser for dry skin as it leaves your skin feeling soft without feeling greasy.

I have very dry skin on my arms at the moment and find the product does need to be reapplied but it works well on the rest of my body.

The Packaging
The body butter comes in a plastic tub which does the job, and makes it easy to use up every last bit of the product.

The Price
The Body Shop: £13/200ml

The Ultimate Question: Would I Repurchase?
Yes

The Overall Score: 4/5

How you tried the body shop brazil nut body butter? What are your thoughts?

sure women crystal clear diamond 48h active anti-perspirant deodorant: review

a picture of sure women crystal clear diamond 48h active anti-perspirant deodorant

a picture of sure women crystal clear diamond 48h active anti-perspirant deodorant

In this post I shall be reviewing the Sure Women Crystal Clear Diamond 48h Active Anti-Perspirant Deodorant.

The Claims
"Sure Women Crystal Clear Diamond 48h Active antiperspirant contains an anti white mark formula to give you all day long confidence and protection from sweat and odour "

The Reality
Deodorant is one item that is definitely an essential for everyone. Finding the right one can sometimes be a bit tricky especially as you can't try before you buy. Everyone has there own preferences on whether they prefer a roll on, spray etc.

For me personally I prefer spray deodorants, and this Sure one is definitely my favourite deodorant. The most important factor for me with my deodorant is that it keeps me protected and sweat free. This deodorant so far has been the best at doing that. Although the 48 hours claim is a bit grand in my opinion. On cold day I'm usually good for around 24 hours, unless I've been running around a lot then its more like 12 hours. On a warm day it lasts for around 12 hours.

I personally don't like overpowering scents so like that this Sure deodorant is lightly fragranced. Another important factor for me is to not get white marks all over my clothes and with this deodorant that has never happened.

I do think that the deodorant is reasonably priced. However I have noticed that the deodorant regular goes on offer for buy 2 for £4 and this is when I usually stock up.

The Packaging
I like the sleek black packaging of this product.

The Price
Boots: £3.15/250ml

The Ultimate Question: Would I Repurchase?
Yes definitely!

The Overall Score: 4.5/5

What's your favourite deodorant?

coloured jeans, stripes and yellow

Sweater: Gap || Jeans: Gap || Shoes: Primark || Necklace: Primark

Hi guys! All the pieces in today's look have been featured in recent hauls and i've just merged them together to create an outfit.

The grand total for this outfit comes to just under £19!

Granted i'm not wearing a bag. Recently I have been making use of my pockets and just carrying my phone and a little cardholder with me.

However even with the addition of a bag the total cost would still be under £25 and that in my book is pretty good going for a complete outfit.

In today's post we shall be reviewing The Body Shop Brazil Nut Body Scrub. This product had been discontinued however The Body Shop are bringing the Brazil Nut products back for a limited time period. This is our favourite body scrub however we are on the last tub bought before the product was discontinued, so we are excited to here that The Body Shop are brining back this product.

The Claims
This creamy body scrub exfoliates skin leaving it super-soft and smooth, and has a sweet and nutty scent. The precious secret inside is skin-nourishing Community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil, hand-harvested to ensure the very best quality.
  • Removes dead skin cells
  • Stimulates skin microcirculation
  • Leaves skin feeling super-soft
  • Sweet and nutty scent
The Reality
The Body Shop Brazil Nut Body Scrub is a great body scrub. The scrub has three different sized ex-foliating grains mixed into a thick creamy lotion. The scrub works a treat at removing all those dead skin cells.

However not only does it remove dead skin cells, it is also a great mosituriser. We both agreed that from the first use our skin was left very soft and smooth. In fact every time we use the scrub our skin feels very hydrated and moisturised.

The scrub is gentle and non-irritating. The scent is nutty and the product smells rather like marzipan.

This is a great body scrub for most skin types. We both preferred this product to The Body Shop shea butter scrub.

The Packaging
The scrub comes in a plastic tub which does the job, and makes it easy to use up every last bit of the product.

The Price
The Body Shop: £12.50/200ml (available from 23rd April 2013)

The Ultimate Question: Would I Repurchase?
Yes

The Overall Score: 4.5/5

How you tried the body shop brazil nut body scrub? What are your thoughts?

Hello Everyone. Hope your all having a lovely weekend.

I'm still not sure what to wear to my cousin's wedding!
