orange and grey

Outfit Details
Coat: Tesco
Dress: Uniqlo
Leggings: El Cortes Ingles
Socks: T K Maxx
Boots: H&M
Scarf: H&M (Gifted)

This is the outfit I wore to run some errands at the weekend. I absolutely love the longsleeve stripey dress. It's cosy and comfy so perfect for winter. I teamed it with a grey coat and stipey grey & orange scarf that I dug out from the back of my wardrobe. I wore my hair in a simple messy bun to keep it out my face.

Now a little plea for some help. we are not being allowed to upload any more pictures up to blogger, as we get a message saying that we have reached out photo limit. So if anyone can help us with this and how we can get around it then we shall be very grateful!

a pop of red

Outfit
Jacket: Warehouse
Top: Warehouse
Skirt: M&S
Belt: Gifted
Shoes: Brantanno
Tights: Next

Hey guys!

I thought I'd share the outfit I wore to work today. I am normally allowed to wear smart casual outfits but I had a meeting today so I wanted to dress smarter. I teamed a red knotted wrap top from Warehouse with a simple black skirt from M&S. The skirt was an absolute bargain at only £2 in the sales a couple of years ago. I can't wait for the sales this year.

What's your best sale find?

Hi Guys! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

For the past few weeks we have been giving you outfit inspiration for the holiday party season. This time of year can get a bit expensive, so we wanted to bring you a few purse-friendly options that won't break the bank balance whilst still making sure you look glamorous. Below we also havea  few tips to keep it budget friendly

Top Tips:

1) Recycle
Wear a dress that you already own and buy some new accessories to give it a new look. Or vice versa, buy a new dress and use shoes and accessories you already own. Before you go shopping have a good look in your wardrobe and see if there is something in there you could use.

2) Look in the sales section
When searching for a new dress, either online or instore, don't forget to have a look in the sales section to see if something catches your eye.

3) Charity/Thrift shops
Why not have a browse in you local charity/thrift store and see if you can find any gems.

4) Hire a dress
There are many websites offering designer dresses for hire at the fraction of the price they cost. If your only going to wear it once why not save yourself the time and hassle, when you can have a gorgeous dress delivered to your doorstep with a few clicks. Check out Girl meets Dress

5) Swap clothes
Why not swap or borrow from your sisters or friends. This way your both wearing something new but your not spending any money.

We hope you enjoyed this week's post. For any of you that don't like wearing dresses, next week we will be showing you some ideas with separates.

If you missed last week's post click here.

Feel free to share your own tips with everyone in the comments below.

tweed and glasses

Outfit Details
Dress: Rare London
Jacket: Warehouse
Shirt: New Look
Tights: Warehouse
Shoes: Nine West from Debenhams
Bag: Fiorelli from TK Maxx
Glasses: Firmoo

I have been wearing glasses for over ten years now. However on a daily basis I wear contact lens. Recently though my eyes have been getting quite dry from wearing contacts for long hours at work, and I had been wanting to go to the opticians to get a new pair of professional looking glasses. So when Firmoo approached us offering to send a free pair of glasses, it was perfect timing. Radha was nice enough to let me get a pair, as she wears glasses on a regular basis and has a number of frames.

When choosing my pair, I instantly went straight to the pick by size option and, no prizes for guessing I chose for small. I have a small face, and although at 25 years of age I hate to admit this but many a times I end up buying glasses from the kids section at the opticians! I wasn't too keen on any of the small frames so veered out to the medium section.

I opted for a pair of rimless glasses, because firstly I have always wanted to to try out rimless glasses, secondly I thought the glasses would weigh less overall without the frames, and I hate having something too heavy on my face.

When  I received my parcel I was pleasantly surprised, because honestly speaking having seen the prices on the website I wasn't really sure what to expect in terms of the quality. The glasses were packaged nicely, they had included a cleaning case, a hard case and a soft case, as well as a little tool kit. I don't think this pair particularly suit me but that's my bad with the choice.

I wanted to have a chance to test them out properly before doing this post, and so I have worn them everyday since I received them, for the past ten days and here are my opinions:

The good things:
  1. The price. In comparison to a high street optician, where the cost can add up to £100s of pounds, the prices are definitely value for money.
  2. Quality. I was surprised with the quality and comfortability of the glasses.
  3. Delivered to your doorstep. Similar to ordering any item on line you can choose with the click of your mouse and get it delivered to your doorstep without having to step outside, making multiple visits to the optician to choose your frames and collect them.
  4. Good customer service. I experienced no difficulties with my order. I placed my order on the 25th of October and it arrived on the 7th of November.
  5. Virtual try on application. I think it's great that they provide the virtual try function, to get an idea of what the frames look like on you.

The not so good things:
  1. As with ordering any item from a website rather than going in store, you are unable to try on the glasses and see how they look and feel. The virtual try on is just not as good as the real thing.
  2. My prescription is quite high so I like to get my lens thinned and I did not see this option being offered on there web site.
  3. The lack of optician service. When you buy from an optician they fit the frames to your face and adjust them for you for comfort.
  4. Lack of range of small frames, for people like myself with small faces.

Overall with the prices your really can't go wrong! Firmoo currently have an amazing offer, where you get your first pair of glasses for free, all you need to do is pay the shipping cost. For more information click here

If you don't wear glasses then they have options for non-prescription glasses also. They have variety of options for Nerd glasses which will make a great accessory for a geek chic look.

Disclaimer: These glasses were provided for free. However all opinions are my own.

primark haul

Primark is my vice! It's not helpful that on occasion to get home I have to walk through it to get to the bus stop. Okay so that's not exactly true, I can walk around the side, but it's cold and dark and I don't particularly want to walk around the outside, and it always looks so inviting and warm so I think I'll just walk through it and get warmed up a bit because I'm going to have to stand outside in the cold whilst I wait for my bus, but then I end up getting distracted and buying things!

Top (sale) £3
I love the lace detailing on this peplum top.  I think this will be a really versatile piece as I can wear it casually or dress it up for a night out.

Hair clips £2
I couldn't resist picking up these cute bow hair clips, with a diamanté embellishment in the centre. These are great to add a little bit of sparkle to your hair during the daytime or to add a bit of glam during the night. I can imagine myself using these to clip my hair back in a half up, half down style.

Top (sale) £3
The print is what attracted me to this top, the style is not something I would usually go for, but I love Paris, even though I haven't actually visited, the city just screams romance to me!

Bag (Sale) £3
I could not leave this bag on the shelf at only £3, Its a cross body, but can also be used as clutch at night with the straps tucked in. I have a clutch with a similar that I wore here, but i thought this was different enough to justify buying.

Jeans £11
If you've recently been to Primark you'll know what I'm taking about but if you don't have one then Primark have currently been stocking a wall full of coloured jeans in a variety of autumnal colours. I looked through the colours and settled on the teal ones, but then whilst looking through the Jeans section I also came across this pair in a dark denim wash, and saw that the leg length was short, so took them along to the changing room. I ended up buying these just because the fit was better length wise, and I thought they were more versatile across seasons. They are not lying when they say ultrasoft, I love how soft they feel. However they do attract a lot of fluff, which is not so good. It's annoying that the coloured jeans are only available in one leg length. Primark if you are reading then I highly recommend for all us short people out there that you make them available in short too. I may go back and get the teal ones and just hem them.

I hope you enjoyed my little haul. Have you been shopping recently? I would love to see what items you bought, so leave a link below, or if not let me know if there's something you have your eye on!

indian outfit for diwali

Today is the Indian Festival of Diwali, known as the festival of lights, and tomorrow will be the Indian New Year. Seeing as over here in the UK we don't have holiday for the festival, and shall be at work, we had some celebrations over the weekend. We both wore traditional Indian suits, and thought it would be fun to share some pictures with you.

May the millions of lamps illuminate your life with endless joy, love, prosperity, health, wealth and happiness. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Diwali and New Year :)

dorothy perkins haul

Hey Guys!

Hope you had a good weekend. Just a quick haul post with some items we recently ordered from Dorothy Perkins' Sale. The delivery service was quick as we received the order within 4 days.

Shoes £7
Radha got these printed slippers from Olivia Rubin's collection for Dorothy Perkins. They are grey with a pink and violet leaf print across them. I loved the design and thought they'd be perfect for parties as I'm not too good with heels. They also go perfectly with the other items I bought.

Dress £12

Radha also got this beaded peter pan collar dress. I love peter pan collars and this dress is perfect for a party or during the day. I loved the dress so much that I bought it in grey and blush! I think it'll be perfect for my work Christmas party teamed with some heels or the slippers I bought (above) and a clutch.

Dress £12

Dress £15

Sita got this key printed dress which is also a piece from Olivia Rubin's collaboration with Dorothy Perkins. We loved the print of the dress; it can be worn casually or to work. It's slightly shorter than expected but teamed with tights and shoes would make a great outfit for work.

I also got sent a complimentary chocolate with my order. It is the new Crispello bar. I couldn't wait to try it so unfortunately you don't have a picture of the chocolate. It's a light chocolate coated wafer almost like Kinder Bueno with chocolate mouse rather than a chocolate hazelnut filling. Perfect for when you don't want anything too heavy.
Enjoy the rest of the week. Also Happy Diwali to those celebrating tomorrow.
xoxo

Are you guys loving seeing all the Christmas decorations starting to go up outside and all the Christmas aisles full of gifts and tasty treats. As soon as I wrote tasty treats, an image of mince pies came into my mind. Definitely got to go get me some!  Radha hates mince pies so all the more for me! Anyway back on topic, what I love most is all the beautiful dresses that hit the shops this time of year, ready for the party season. I can't help but lust over them and think about how I would style them, hence creating outfit inspiration for you guys is so enjoyable for me.

Last week we had outfit ideas featuring black dresses, and like we promised, this week we have some more colourful options for you! Next week we shall be bringing you some budget friendly options.

Don't forget to tell us your favourite outfit!
