yarok feed your volume shampoo and conditioner review

In this post I shall be reviewing  the Yarok feed your volume shampoo and conditioner, this is a combinaiton that I have been using solely for almost a year now.

The Reality 
I have to say that I do really like these Yarok products. They leave my hair feeling clean, fresh and shiny. My hair feels soft and silky. But not artificially silky, like you get with products containing silicone.

Since I have started using this combination I have also had people asking me what shampoo I use because my hair looks really good and smells really nice, so I always take that as a good sign!

I love the brand's values, all the products are cruelty free and vegan, as well as being free of alcohol, parabens and sulphates. In addition also donate 3% of their profits to the panchama alliance, a non-profit that works to preserve the amazon rain-forest.

The only drawback to these Yarok shampoo and conditioner are that after almost a year of solely using these products I have found that my scalp has gotten somewhat dry and can feel itchy at times.

At £19 a bottle they are rather on the steep side, but overall I think worth the money.

The Ingredients

Shampoo Ingredients: Purified Water, Decyl Glucose and Lauryl Glucose, Coco Protein, Seaweed Extract, Organic Herbal Infusions of Coltsfoot and Marshmallow Root, Calendula Blossoms and Chamomile Flowers, Chickweed, Horsetail, Slippery Elm, Comfrey Root and Sea Buckthorn CO2, Nettles and Oatstraw, Organic and Wildcrafted Essential Oils of Lavender, Atlas Cedar, Red Mandarin, Sweet ORange & Rosemary, Grapefruit Seed Extract. 

Conditioner Ingredients: Purified water, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax, Organic Herbal Infusions of Coltsfoot, Chickweed, Nettles, Horsetail, Slippery Elm, Marshmallow Root, Comfrey Root, Calendula Blossoms, Chamomile Flowers & Oatstraw, Organic Jojoba Seed Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Seaweed Extract, Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Calendula CO2, Organic and Wildcrafted Essential Oils of Sweet Orange, Rosemary & Vetiver, Vitamin C, Sage & Rosemary, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Organic and Wildcrafted Essential Oils of Geranium, Teat Tree, Lavendar, Ravensara Aromatica, Rosemary & Lemon, Sage & Rosemary Antioxidants, Grapefruit Seed Extract. 

The Packaging 

The shampoo and conditioner both come packaged in a plastic bottles. I do feel the packaging appears a bit cheap for what you are paying for the product. However all the packaging is environmentally friendly material which is more important.

The Ultimate Question: Would I repurchase? 

Yes - in fact I already have repurchased!

the body shop haul

 Body Polisher £4

I recently popped into the Body Shop to buy a Body Polisher and ended up buying a couple of other items too. The Body polisher has great reviews on the website and it claims to be good for dry skin. As it is a long nylon polisher it is also to exfoliate the back. I have used it a few times and will post a review soon.

Vitamin E Cleansing Bar £3 (100g)

 

I also picked up the Vitamin E cleansing bar. I was a bit dubious about a soap-like cleanser but it too has great reviews and it can be used on the body as well as the face. If it works well I thought it would be a great product to take with you on holiday as it is dual usage and wouldn't face any restrictions on carrying it in your hand luggage. I will also do a review  for this bar once I have tested it out.

Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter £3 (50ml)

I already have a large Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter and love it. Check out our review here. I picked up a smaller pot to take with me when I'm away from home.

products we've used up: march 2013

Hi guys!

We've seen plenty of posts and video's on products people have used up and we've always found them interesting so we decided to share our empties!

1. The Body Shop Almond Body Butter (Sita) 

I'm a big fan of the body shop body butters and have tried many different flavours, during autumn/winter I prefer the nutty flavours and during spring/summer I prefer to go for the more fruit flavours. This butter is really moisturising and there are a variety of scents so I'm sure you can find one to suit your taste buds  I would definitely repurchase this purchase. In fact I already have a sweet lemon flavour for the spring time.

2. Lush Trial Size The Charity Pot (Sita) 

First of all this tin is really hard to open! In terms of the product the consistency is of a lotion as oppose to a body butter, it sinks into the skin quite quickly. Personally the smell of it is rather overpowering and I don't like it, it smells chocolatey but there are also some other undertones which I can't place. I think it's great thought that 100% of the proceeds are donated to charity.
 

3. The Body Shop Carrot Cream (Radha)

The carrot cream is great for adding moisture into your skin. It is advertised for all skin types and it works well with my dry sensitive skin as it has quite a thick consistency. Unfortunately the Body Shop have discontinued the carrot cream so am on the look out a new moisturiser.

4. Garnier Skin Naturals Fresh Essentials 24hr Moisturising Cream (Sita) 

I'm not going to say to much about this product as I have already done a full product review on it which you can read here.

5. The Body Shop Dewberry Body Lotion (Sita) 

This product has actually now been discontinued. However I would not have repurchased it as I hated the scent (I bought it online without smelling - big mistake!)

6. Nivea Daily Essentials Light Moisturising Day Cream (Sita) 

I have been using this day cream since I was a teenager, and it's a product that I always keep back ups off. The product is light so it does not break me out, however it still moisturises my skin and keeps it hydrated. In addition I like that it had SPF 15 to protect my skin from the sun.

7. Sure Crystal Clear Aqua Antiperspirant Deodorant (Sita) 

This is my favourite deodorant. I have been using this product for years as it keeps me feeling fresh and does not leave any white marks on my clothing.

8. Soap & Glory Off Your Face 3-in-1 Cleansing Clothes (Sita) 

I prefer to use make-up remover to remove my make-up so don't tend to use them for that purpose. I tend to use them when I'm feeling lazy to cleanse my face, or just to freshen up. They do the job and they don't dry out. These came in a Christmas gift set but I don't think I will purchase them as there are plenty of cheaper options that do the same job.

9. Sure Deodorant Minerals Pure (Radha)

I tend to prefer roll on deodorants to aerosols as they work better for my skin and are smaller so take up less room in my bag. The sure mineral roll on works well and I haven't been left with any white marks. It also contains 0% alcohol, which is a very important factor for me when choosing a deodorant.

10. Charles Worthington No Frizz Serum (Sita) 

I feel like I have had this product for years! I bought it whilst I was at University because I had my John Frieda frizz ease serum but I wanted a second one so I could have one with me and one at home. This one happened to be on offer at boots when I went in so I ended up purchasing it. I have finally finished it. All the Charles Worthington products have been repackaged since I bought this, it worked okay for me but I think I prefer the John Frieda one over this one.

11. The Body Shop Matt & Shimmer Cheek Colour (Radha)

This was palette no.02 in Bronze, it was also available in pink. I wouldn't repurchase this product as I felt it didn't show up well on my skin tone. I also found it difficult to open the case and the product breaks easily.

the body shop rainforest moisture hair butter: review

We hope you had a great weekend guys! In today's post we're both doing a joint review on The Body Shop's rainforest hair butter.

The Claims

'Luxuriously rich and intensive deep-conditioning treatment for soft, glossy and tangle-free hair'

The Reality
This has to be one of the best hair conditioning treatments that we have ever used. We use this product as an alternative to our normal conditioner weekly to two-weekly. After shampooing we apply a small amount of product to our hair like you would your normal conditioner and then wash it out after five minutes.

Even though we have been using this hair butter for the past year we noticed results from the first use. We both felt that are hair was left softer, nourished, less tangled and easier to manage. Furthermore it has a lovely tropical fruity scent so your hair is left smelling great too. If that wasn't enough the product is free of silicones, colourants and parabens.

Overall we can't really think of a bad word to say about this hair butter and feel like it's great value for money.

There is also a version available for coloured hair which we haven't tried as neither of us dye our hair but thought it was worth a mention as  this may be a better choice for some of you guys if you are looking into purchasing this product.

The Packaging
The product comes in a plastic tub and we're in two minds about the packaging, on the one hand it's easy to obtain as much product as you want and easy to use every last drop. On the other hand it can be a bit tricky to use in the shower as you need to ensure that you don't get water in the tub so it may be better in a squeezy tube.

The Ultimate Question: Would I Repurchase?
